Where to visit in the Margaret River Region Margaret River is an excellent base from which to explore the Cape to Cape region which encompasses The Margaret River Wine Region. When visiting the region, we recommend allowing at least 3 nights to experience the natural and man made attractions of the area. South of Margaret River is the town of Augusta, this southernmost tip of mainland Australia has The Cape Leeuwin Lighthouse with fantastic tours. Here you can see two oceans meeting, The Indian and The Great Southern. With whale watching in season and cruises on the Blackwood River to view the birdlife and perhaps a pod of Dolphins. Are you worried that your holiday will ruin your exercise programme? Don’t be! With a Community Centre just 300 metres from Rosewood it is easy to stroll across for a swim in the indoor pool or have a casual gym visit. A walking/running trail through to forest starts just 100 metres from Rosewood and an early morning walk in the company of the many native birds in the region has a special magic to start the day. The golf course is just a 5 minute drive away and is open to the public. The beaches are just 7 minutes drive with surfing and windsurfing lessons available. Horse riding is popular in the region with a number of options including carriage rides for those who love horses but can’t sit astride! Scooters and bicycles can be hired in the town. |
