We are often asked what it is like to stay in Hosted Accommodation also known as Bed and Breakfast. Well there are a lot of plus’s in a traditional B&B.
Firstly your hosts live on-site.
Does that mean we will be sharing a bathroom and TV? Absolutely not! Our quarters are at the rear of the property and very private. When you arrive we give you a brief check in, discuss breakfast preferences where you have a menu offering continental breakfast and tantalising hot options. Then we show you to you room which has an en-suite and all the features you expect! You have your own refrigerator, tea and coffee making facilities and much more.
Can we cater for vegetarians and vegans?
Certainly but please advise us when you book so we can ensure the options will suit you. Fresh milk and biscuits are available at any time from our guest dining room. Not many pretend new age B&B’s include breakfast.
Our guest lounge is most comfortable with complimentary refreshments in the form of tea and coffee, biscuits and port or sherry. It is toasty warm in winter and the air conditioning keeps you cool in summer. Some guests love to read and relax in the lounge others prefer the seclusion of their room where there is also comfortable chairs and table for relaxing.
Our guesthouse has won many awards and a big part of that is making guests feel relaxed and welcome. Once we have shown you to your room and given you code for the Wi-Fi, ensured you can work the air-conditioner which both heats and cools depending on the season, we leave you to enjoy your holiday. We seek to be unobtrusive until we see you the next morning when we serve breakfast between 8-9am, but if you do need to speak to us, we are right here.
Do you have to mix with other guests? Only if you want to! If you are in the guest lounge others may also want to be there. At breakfast we have a number of different tables, some are set for two guests and several of the large tables accommodate two couples. Is everyone there at the same time? Hard to predict as the breakfast time is very flexible and it depends who is lingering over coffee and who prefers to start their day’s sightseeing early. Most guests enjoy swapping a few stories at breakfast about favourite sightseeing or restaurants and travel is a common thread.
Hosted Accommodation means there is someone who cares about your stay in Margaret River! As hosts we seek to ensure that we help you make the most of your time. We can help with sightseeing suggestions, where to dine, and some of the wonderful characters who make this such a vibrant community. Should there be something you need help with it is on-site and quickly attended to.
Are we perfect? Of course not but we try. Pillows are never the same as the perfect one you have at home, feel free to bring it with you. Well we will always try our best but be aware that our guesthouse values comfort and style. The furnishings are unashamedly pieces we have chosen because we like them, and perhaps they are family treasures. Please don’t tell us that the 100 year old piece needs to be updated…not going to happen. However all our beds are under 8 years young…some things do NOT get better with age!
Can you walk to town from Rosewood Guesthouse? Yes, yes, yes! It is 200 metres to the wonderful pub next door to us, The River. It is 700 metres to the Bussell Hwy where all the restaurants are. It takes approximately 10 minutes for you to walk all on a paved footpath.
So summing it up at a friendly guesthouse like Rosewood you experience a warm welcome, personalised service, good food and a central well maintained location. Sociability is optional.
